Syd’Quan’s Football Camp Athletes Volunteer at River City
Food Bank to Support “1000 Canned Goods Drive”

WHAT:  The Denver Broncos’ corner back and Sacramento native, Syd’Quan Thompson (Grant High School) will host his second annual football camp for junior high and high school athletes in Sacramento this July.  With the help of Baltimore Ravens, Asa Jackson (Christian Brothers High School), and Atlanta Falcons, Peyton Thompson (Granite Bay High School), the NFL players will run a four hour camp and then bus over to River City Food Bank to help volunteer during  food distribution time. Syd’Quan has decided to use this football camp as an opportunity to spread his proverbial philanthropic wings and raise 1,000 cans of food for the food bank.  Instead of charging a registration fee for campers, he has simply asked they bring 5 canned goods to donate that afternoon.  River City Food Bank is thrilled to be the recipient of their goodwill and will openly welcome the athletes at their new building this summer.

WHEN: July 13, 2012(athletes volunteer) / July 14, 2012 (donation pick-up)

COST:   5 canned goods per athlete

WHERE: River City Food Bank, 1800 28th Street, Sacramento, CA 95816

BENEFITING: River City Food Bank is the only Sacramento-area food bank open every weekday to anyone experiencing hunger, from anywhere in Sacramento County. RCFB offers nutritionally-balanced three-day emergency food as well as compassion.
