Food Distribution (Arden)

Volunteer tasks from 10:15 am – 1:30 pm include assembling boxes and preparing bags, filling boxes/bags with shelf stable items and produce, sorting and organizing donated food, bagging bulk produce, un/loading trucks, moving food product, cleaning, sanitizing, as well as distribution of food boxes/bags to our guests. Volunteers may work indoors with prep or outdoors for the distribution. Volunteers helping with the distribution  help to ensure all food items for the day are stocked on the table for guests to pick up. Volunteers may assist with stocking the tables and moving food product. Lifting, pushing, pulling 25+ pounds may be required as well as standing for 2+ hours.

Volunteer tasks from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm include assistance with clean up at end of distribution. Help putting items away, organizing, loading trucks, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, preparing bags/boxes for the next distribution, etc.

What to know before you arrive:

  • We work with food and cans! Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing you wouldn’t mind getting dirty.

There are two parking lots on the church campus. If they are both full, you can park on the street around the church campus- Church Avenue. Please do not park by the preschool or you will be towed.

At this time, face masks/coverings are required while volunteering. River City Food Bank can provide masks to volunteers if needed.
