Hosting a Food Drive

Hosting a food drive is a great way to support your neighbors facing hunger! Whether you are collecting a few items from your house or hosting a large drive at your office, all in-kind donations are appreciated.

Once you are done collecting items, stop by River City Food Bank to drop them off on one our Community Donation Drop Off Days!

Do you have items to donate? RCFB will be hosting special food donation drop off events on Saturday, Nov. 12th and Dec. 10th!

Come visit the Midtown site from 10am – 1pm and drop off the donations you have collected.

Yes! We welcome food and hygiene donations – for more information you can download our toolkit. We encourage all donations to be dropped off at our Midtown site during our Community Donation Drop Off Days (Nov. 12 and Dec. 10).

Any turkeys that are available at our food distributions will be handed out first come, first serve. There will be alternative meat options available as well.

RCFB will be closed in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday from Nov. 23- Nov. 28. The last day to receive food before the closures will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Midtown site from 10:30am – 1:30pm.

Yes, you can pick up food for someone else in need. Please complete this form and bring with you.

Midtown site:  Pick up for a maximum of 3 households

Encina Thanksgiving Distribution: Pick up for a maximum of  2 households (must be present to receive a turkey, if available).

RCFB strives to provide an assortment of healthy food options, which will depend on the season and availability. During distribution, you will be offered:

  1. Dried goods (e.g. pasta, beans, rice, etc.)
  2. Canned goods (e.g. canned fruit, canned vegetables, soup, tomato sauce, etc.
  3. Fruits & Vegetables (e.g. apples, oranges, bananas, etc.)
  4. Dairy (e.g. milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, etc.)
  5. Protein (e.g. chicken, pork, beef, peanut butter, tuna, etc.)
  6. Bread/whole grains (e.g. sliced bread, English muffins, tortillas, etc.)

RCFB also has a “non-cook” table which offers ready to eat food for any guest without access to a kitchen.

We cannot guarantee any specific items as most of our food is donated. We strive to provide a well rounded variety of grocery products and will do our best to include holiday items.
