What we do and how we do it IS important

What we do and how we do it IS important

During this busy month of the year, it’s sometimes difficult to remember how the services we provide and how we provide them make a huge impact on individual people’s lives.  But, sometimes a smiling face, a helpful hand, and some groceries can really be the catalyst for change.

Last week we received a hand written letter from a former client informing us that over the past couple years food became scarce and he had to come to the food bank. He expressed his appreciation for our healthy food and our friendly atmosphere. He wrote, “I knew better times were ahead for me and always wanted to give something back for you and your clients.” Incredibly, this statement came along with a $100 check!

As we celebrate Thanksgiving with abundance, let’s remember that so many are just a few groceries away from getting back on their feet and paying it forward. And every time that we extend our generosity to someone in need there’s  a chance for them to give it right back.
