Sometimes you have to read between the lines to get the real story. Thank you to our brave guests and volunteers who shared their stories of compassion, strength and resiliency.
Shannon found hope at River City Food Bank’s Arden-Arcade Emergency Food distribution, where she received groceries during tough times. Overwhelmed by the care and generosity, she discovered fresh food that sustained her for the week.
Witnessing the impact of the food bank’s mission, Shannon realized the power of collective support.
Marinda Johnson Sessoms, Secretary & Vice President of the Board of Directors at River City Food Bank and Producer at KVIE, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the significance of understanding one’s history during Black History Month.
Fleeing persecution in their homeland, Alex, Anna, and their daughter sought refuge in the United States but faced challenges without stable employment or documents. Discovering River City Food Bank’s support, they found essential groceries without paperwork and now volunteer there, grateful for the assistance in their new community.
