The bowls may be empty, but they are exquisite in every way! I have had the pleasure of visiting high school classrooms as the students put their finishing touches on their contributions to River City Food Bank’s Empty Bowls event. I am impressed with the students’ designs, their expression and their creativity. Clearly, a part of their heart goes into the work that they donate because they care about the gift they are giving and the cause they are helping. The bowls are often the voice of the student and they are filled with empathy, care, and concern. I love the way Empty Bowls gives us all a gift; the gift of expression, the gift of caring, and the gift of helping those in need.
