River City Food Bank
Empty Bowls is River City Food Bank’s one and only fundraiser! In our 18th year, this event provides essential operating support to ensure that we can provide healthy, nutritious food to our neighbors experiencing hunger. Although we have continued using a virtual platform this year, your support has never been more critical.
COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges, including an enormous spike in food insecurity. Seniors were isolated, children could not access free meals at school, individuals faced homelessness and families experienced hunger in record numbers. While last year was marked by significant hardship and uncertainty there was hope in the face of adversity.
This year we are thrilled to announce that we raised more than $104,00! To everyone who sponsored, donated and tuned in to learn more about RCFB- THANK YOU!
Big Day of Giving
Every year, the Sacramento region comes together for one BIG Day of Giving – a 24-hour online giving challenge.
In 2021, our region raised over $13 million, with River City Food Bank finishing the day by reaching our goal of $75,000!
This would not be possible without your kindness and generosity.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Because of YOU, we raised more than $34,000 in gifts during Giving Tuesday 2020. We are so grateful for your support!
